Cauliflower Gratin - Comfort Food Made Simple
Cauliflower Gratin is impressive looking, easy to make, and is as comforting as a bowl of the creamiest mashed potatoes. Makes a good side or a main dish. Ingredients: 1 medium head of cauliflower 1 cup of milk 1 tbsp of flour 1/3 cup of shredded cheese (yellow cheddar) Grated Parmesan Bread Crumbs Salt, pepper, nutmeg for seasoning Instructions: - core and clean the cauliflower - boil in salted water for 20 minutes - cool it and chop it into small florets - preheat the oven to 375F - place pan on medium heat and add 1 cup of milk - Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg - as the milk begins to boil add one tablespoon of flour and whisk nonstop until the sauce starts to thicken - when sauce starts to thicken turn off gas and add cauliflower and coat it - place mixture into baking dish - mix in the shredded cheese - sprinkle on top with grated Parmesan and bread crumbs - Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown - serve warm and enjoy!
